Stefan Poland has studied history at the University of Amsterdam. His research interest lies with nineteenth-century intellectual and scholarly history, especially regarding the issues of nationalism and racism. From his experience working as research assistant at the Study Platform on Interlocking Nationalisms, he supports the ‘European Spa’-project (and several other digital humanities projects) in the optimisation of the database design and the use of visualisation tools.
