Currently a student in the East European Studies Master’s program at UvA, Kaitlin previously obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, with her undergraduate education focusing on modern European history and cultural anthropology. Her research interests have coalesced in her current thesis project: a narrative analysis of the ongoing attempts to revitalize and revalorize the cultural heritage of Baile Herculane, a Romanian spa town struggling to stanch and reverse the encroaching ruination occurring since the country’s transition from Communism.
